What kind of methods do we usually use for rapid prototyping?

Your EMS partner for the JDM, OEM, and ODM projects.

As a customized manufacturer, we know that rapid prototyping is the first essential step for verifying the concepts. We help customers make prototypes to test and improve during the early stage.

Rapid prototyping is a key phase in product development that involves quickly creating a scaled-down version of a product or system. Several methods are commonly used for rapid prototyping, including:

3D Printing:

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM): Involves melting plastic filament and depositing it layer by layer.

Stereolithography (SLA): Uses a laser to cure liquid resin into hardened plastic in a layer-by-layer process.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS): Uses a laser to fuse powdered material into a solid structure.

3D printing for rapid prototyping and complex, custom designs. We can use the 3D printed parts to check the appearance and rough structure.

CNC Machining:

A subtractive manufacturing process where material is removed from a solid block using computer-controlled machinery. It is for high-precision, durable parts.  To check the accurate dimensions in real prototype, it is a good way to choose.

Vacuum casting:

It also known as polyurethane casting, is a versatile and cost-effective method used for creating high-quality prototypes and small batches of parts. Primarily uses polyurethane and other casting resins. Cost-effective for medium batch production, but initial mold creation can be expensive.

Silicone molding:

It is a popular and versatile method used in various industries for creating detailed and high-quality molds. These molds are often used for producing prototypes, small production runs, or intricate parts. We can use this kind of method for small quantity and the product quality is stable. Casts parts in resins, waxes, and some metals. Economical for small production runs.

Apart from the rapid-prototyping, we also handle the further stages for testing and validation. Helping you in DFM stage and injection molding manufacturing process, to final convey the good products to you.
